Hi, I’m Leigha Baer and I am the owner of this website. If you’ve landed here and expected to see the Decorator’s Garden Supply store, I’m sorry, I’ve closed it. For now anyway.
For those of you I haven’t had the pleasure of meeting yet, please allow me to introduce myself.
Yes, I used to have a store that sold all kinds of garden decorative items from arbors to rain gauges and at first, it was fun.
After about 2 years, it just became too much work for me to keep up with everything else going on in my life and it wasn’t fun anymore. Anyone who knows me will tell you that I have to have fun in whatever it is I’m doing. If it’s not fun, why do it?
Therefore, with a little regret and what seems like the weight of the world lifted off my shoulders, I’ll continue to love gardening and to share with you from this blog.
I am the mother of four grown and fabulous children and a proud grandmother to seven of the most awe inspiring grandchildren ever known to mankind! I am at my best when surrounded by my family which doesn’t happen often enough nowadays with the family now spread out around the country.
I am also “mommy” to two canine kids. Lucy, a big ole yellow Lab who thinks she’s a lap dog and Jenna, a Border Collie mix who originated as a foster dog and whom I fell in love with. She is the sweetest dog ever! I love having them and they love to ”help” me with the gardening by hanging out in the shade while I work.
I call Charleston, SC home but I’ve also lived in the Pacific Northwest, Southern California, and Western NY, so I’ve been able to enjoy gardening in the four corners of the USA.
I am a gardening enthusiast who is passionate about gardening and backyard birds and I love sharing what I’ve learned along the way with others who enjoy gardening and birds or who are even thinking about getting started gardening. After all, there is just so much pleasure in gardening and making your garden a beautiful place to be. That’s probably why it’s the #1 hobby in the country.
It’s fun to add some garden decorative items here and there and since I don’t have the store anymore, I’ll be sharing my sources for those kinds of things with you here on the site. In most cases, garden decorative items are just the final touches. It’s true, some of them are functional things, things that will make your yard and garden look better and are useful, but as a rule, everything that happens before the final touches are what really matter.
I do want to let you know that some of the links on the pages within this website are affiliate links. That means that when you purchase an item I’ve recommended, I make a commission on the item. I want you to know that this in no way affects what I recommend. I’ve made the recommendation because I believe in the product and want to share it with you. There’s nothing wrong in making an honest dollar right? If you need more information on that policy, please visit my Legal Disclosures page. (Not fun but necessary)
Not only do I want to share my knowledge about gardening, show you how to attract birds to your yard if you want them, help you with your do-it-yourself projects, and talk about whatever else happens to be on my mind. I also want to have the opportunity to learn from you, my readers and fellow gardening enthusiasts, so please feel free to introduce yourselves and comment wherever you want to share your thoughts. Dive right in, all are welcome and perhaps we will all learn something together.
Happy Gardening,
P.S. This is fun. Don’t forget to sign up for our free gardening projects and get your “Paperwhites Project” today! If you love giving little gardening gifts, you’ll love this one!
